The Trap Of The Intellectual Ego

Did you ever think learning a lot could be your downfall?
As you dive deeper into the esoteric, discovering the depths of spiritual wisdom, it’s quite easy to become arrogant and egotistical.
Unfortunately, a lot of “spiritual” are arrogant and egotistical, which is typically masked by a nice personality.
That combination of arrogance and egotism will lead to the trap of the intellectual ego, and this trap is the deadliest of traps because you’ll never know you’re in it…
The Path Of The Awakened One
Typically at the start of our journey, we recognize that before we were asleep and now deem ourselves to be “woke” (not the political ideology, the original one) and we “feel” on the right path…
It’s like you’re in a whole different world now.
You see things differently, you experience things differently and can understand things to immense depths.
From a movie to a show to a song, our minds can decode information that’s meaningless to the average person.
Understanding the esoteric will set you apart from everybody else but this is also where the ego trap begins…
It’s important to understand that the ego does not want you to be spiritual, so it will set up pitfalls and traps to keep you centered around it.
The ego trap will start to arise in small thought forms, such as thinking that everybody around you is either misled, lacks understanding, or is simply foolish.
I definitely hit one right?
The more you learn, the more your ego will develop this intellectual superiority complex as a direct result of being outside the normal collective hive mind.
A prime example of this is, that when many of us leave religion, we seek to make our loved ones leave the “shackles” of that system and “wake” up just like us.
But see, this limited view fails to account for the possibility that maybe their soul's manifestation on this physical plane was to acquire specific knowledge that is within their religion which you so heavily disagree with.
You could be doing more damage to the original purpose of their soul's journey.
You might even be disagreeing with this article, and do you know why?
There is nothing harder than trying to convince somebody who deems themselves as an intellectual that they are wrong, and you are this intellectual individual.
You’re not better than the dumbest person you know
You are not better than the most ignorant, most stupid human being.
Although this brings many benefits and many gifts, this could also be your downfall.
The basis of spirituality is to first recognize there is no difference between the thug who kills people, the crack addict, the school teacher, the nurse, the millionaire, and the billionaire.
We are all one.
There is no difference between any of them on a spiritual level because at our core we ALL originate from the one source.
Whether to you this is God/Allah/Jehovah/Yahweh/The Source/The Most High it does not matter.
So even with all your knowledge, you are still one with the very people you lowkey look down on.
The most ironic part is that your projections of them will come back onto you because they are you.
You can learn from anybody
Open your mind up to the potentiality that people are not necessarily living good or bad for those are simply aspects of polarity and do not exist on a spiritual level.
Assume everybody that you meet can teach you something profound and they will, regardless if they are “woke” or not.
To have a continuous cycle of elevation you need to open your mind to the possibility that you still do not know enough.
Also not only that but everybody that you meet, even the idiot can reveal something profound to you.
The Solution
The further you stay away from the trap of the intellectual ego, the more you move closer to progression spiritually, here’s how:
- Remind yourself that you are everyone, and everyone is you beyond the illusion of reality.
- Have the capability to humble yourself to anyone, not everyone.
- Remain continuously studious.
- Continuously make an effort to challenge your beliefs.
